About the role

TL;DR

This remote role requires 5+ years of HRIS experience, including at least 3 years configuring Workday US Payroll, Global Absence, Global Time Tracking, and Reporting. You’ll own configuration, audits, troubleshooting, reports, dashboards, EIB uploads, and release testing, while serving as a Payroll and Time Tracking subject matter expert. You’ll also back up Benefits and Compensation support. Base pay is $110,000 to $130,000, plus possible variable pay and benefits.

The Workday HRIS Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing our Workday environment with a primary focus on Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking (PATT) and reporting modules. This role will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for configuration, maintenance, and optimization of these modules. The Specialist will partner closely with HR, Payroll, and cross-functional teams to ensure system accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Additionally, this role will provide backup support for Benefits and Compensation modules, ensuring continuity across key HR systems.

  • US Payroll
  • Global Absence
  • Global Time Tracking
  • Reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules including business processes, eligibility rules, calculations, and accruals.
  • Support design, testing, deployment, and enhancement of Workday functionality.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and partner with stakeholders to resolve defects.
  • Serve as SME for Payroll and Time Tracking configuration and system support.
  • Ensure payroll compliance through accurate system configuration and audits.
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports.
  • Create dashboards and analytics to support data-driven decision making.
  • Maintain data integrity through audits, validations, and governance practices.
  • Manage EIB uploads and maintain system data tables.
  • Support HRIS projects, including testing and Workday releases.
  • Provide backup support for Benefits and Compensation modules.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HRIS experience with at least 3 years of Workday configuration.
  • Experience with Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules.
  • Experience building Workday reports and dashboards.
  • Understanding of Workday architecture and data structures.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 - $130,000. Pay will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education and training. This position may also be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, commission, or other variable pay plan.
