Workday Test Manager/Architect

About the role

TL;DR

Lead Workday test automation across HCM and Finance, covering regression, integration, end-to-end scenarios, release validation, and migration to client-owned environments. Design reusable frameworks and define automation governance, CI/CD integration, reporting, security roles, test data, and data reconciliation. Lead offshore and onshore teams while working with HR, Finance, implementation, and QA stakeholders, using tools such as Turnkey, Selenium, Playwright, Tosca, or UFT.

Role will be part of our Quality Engineering & Assurance (QE&A) Practice. With more than 650 clients across industry verticals and a global footprint, Cognizant QE&A practice is a recognized thought leader in quality engineer and Assurance. As enterprises simplify, modernize and secure their legacy environments for the digital era, robust quality Engineering and assurance is essential. Quality takes an end-to-end connotation and must straddle both legacy and digital systems. Cognizant QE&A is reimagining QE&A, employing an end-to-end ecosystem approach with intelligent and automated QA processes. In so doing, increasing quality and speed to promote faster business and technology change, as well as a better customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workday test automation across HCM / Finance modules

  • Design and maintain reusable automation frameworks for Workday business processes

  • Automating Workday regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios

  • Leading migration and stabilization of automation suites from vendor environments into client-owned environments

  • Regression planning, regression optimization, and release validation for large-scale Workday programs

  • Workday security roles, business process configuration, and test data setup

  • validating upstream/downstream integrations, data reconciliation, and environment readiness during migration activities

  • Define automation strategy, governance, script maintenance, CI/CD integration, and execution reporting

  • Lead offshore/onshore automation teams, review scripts, track defects, and report test progress

  • Stakeholder communication with HR, Finance, implementation, and QA teams

Key Skills and experience:

  • Strong experience in Workday test automation across HCM / Finance modules

  • Ability to design and maintain reusable automation frameworks for Workday business processes

  • Hands-on experience automating Workday regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios

  • Experience leading migration and stabilization of automation suites from vendor environments into client-owned environments

  • Strong expertise in regression planning, regression optimization, and release validation for large-scale Workday programs

  • Experience with automation tools such as Turnkey or Selenium, Playwright, Tosca, UFT

  • Good understanding of Workday security roles, business process configuration, and test data setup

  • Experience validating upstream/downstream integrations, data reconciliation, and environment readiness during migration activities

  • Ability to define automation strategy, governance, script maintenance, CI/CD integration, and execution reporting

  • Ability to lead offshore/onshore automation teams, review scripts, track defects, and report test progress

  • Strong stakeholder communication with HR, Finance, implementation, and QA teams
