About the role

TL;DR

This fully remote role is open only to people working in one of 17 registered payroll states. You’ll serve as the senior escalation point for complex Workday Finance issues while writing knowledge articles, job aids, training content, and User Support AI content. The role requires four years in HR, Payroll, Finance, or systems support and a bachelor’s degree; Workday Pro or equivalent certification is preferred.

The Finance User Support and Knowledge Base Analyst III is a strategic leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide optimization of the Workday platform. This role leads cross-functional initiatives to enhance user experience, system performance, and business outcomes. As a senior subject matter expert in Finance-related Workday functions, the Analyst III provides thought leadership and partners with stakeholders to align Workday capabilities with organizational goals. A key responsibility of this position is to maintain the Workday Knowledge Base, which includes writing new and updating existing knowledge articles (job aids), training materials, and content for our User Support AI tool. Strong proficiency in writing to create and edit User Support content is a must. Another key responsibility is to provide User Support in areas of Workday Finance within our case management system.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in enterprise-level initiatives to improve Workday usability, adoption, and performance across HCM, Payroll, and Finance modules.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex and high-impact system issues related to Workday Finance functions, guiding resolution and root cause analysis.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership, technical teams, and business units to define and implement strategic enhancements.

  • Develop and maintain advanced self-help resources and knowledge base content in partnership with the Knowledge Manager.

  • Drive data-informed decision-making by analyzing system usage trends, user feedback, and operational metrics.

  • Design and lead training programs, change management strategies, and communication plans to support system rollouts and upgrades.

  • Represent the Workday Solution Center in enterprise governance forums and strategic planning sessions.

  • Participate in testing and documentation efforts for major configuration changes and system releases as needed.

  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, simplification, and innovation.

This position is 100% remote. All remote work must be performed within one of the MCW registered payroll states, which currently includes: WI, AL, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, TN, TX, and UT.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

  • Expert-level knowledge of Workday Finance modules, including configuration and integration points.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills, especially in written content.

  • Experience with advanced reporting, dashboards, and data visualization tools within Workday.

  • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize competing demands in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Required Experience: 4 years in a systems analyst, operations, or support role with increasing responsibility in HR, Payroll, or Finance systems.

Preferred Certification/Licensure(s): Workday Pro or equivalent advanced certification

Physical Requirements

Work may occasionally require lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an environmentally controlled setting with occasional exposure to typical office conditions.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.

Target salary range for this position is between $93,400.00 and $120,200.00 annually. The final offered salary will depend on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and knowledge, as well as considerations of internal equity and market alignment.
