Senior Workday Engagement Manager

About the role

TL;DR

Lead large-enterprise Workday Platform and Student implementations across HCM, Financials, and Student, with 40%+ travel. You’ll own project plans, budgets, milestones, risks, customer stakeholder relationships, and sales support, while mentoring engagement managers. Workday project management certification, strong financial and presentation skills, and experience with Higher Education or State and Local Government projects are needed.

Alchemy's Senior Engagement Manager will provide project leadership, develop enduring partnerships with customers, and ensure the successful deployment of Workday. The role will oversee and take full ownership of overall project deliverables and milestones to ensure the successful deployment of the Workday HCM, Financials, and Student product, ensuring projects are deployed on time, within budget, and according to our customers’ high-quality expectations. The Senior Engagement Manager will also be responsible for mentoring and developing less experienced engagement managers. This role requires a strong project or engagement manager with experience leading both Workday Platform and Student implementations.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure Workday deployments are properly planned, staffed, and delivered successfully
  • Communicate and work effectively with customer stakeholders/steering committees, customer project managers, and internal teams to ensure a positive, sustainable result
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Identify the risks associated with the project and appropriately escalate project issues to customer team and internal stakeholders
  • Develop risk mitigation solutions as needed with input from the internal project team and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of Workday HCM, Financials, and/or Student product suites
  • Hold a Workday project management certification and be an expert in adapting the Workday implementation methodology
  • Support the sales cycles by assisting with scoping, project estimation, Statement of Work review and conducting orals presentations
  • Demonstrate extensive industry expertise and the ability to create tailored solutions for prospects and customers by integrating Workday with third-party systems
  • Continue to enhance and expand Alchemy’s capabilities in both Higher Education and State and Local Government

About you (Required skills)

  • Extensive large enterprise (LE) Workday project management experience and the desire to support LE Workday Platform for Higher Education and State and Local Government engagements as Alchemy seeks to move upmarket
  • Ability to grow Alchemy’s capability in the State and Local Government space
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment and ability to motivate project team members
  • Ability to logically and efficiently structure ambiguous problems, identify sources of data, and conduct complicated analysis with a solution-based approach
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectations
  • Proficient project financial acumen
  • Proficient in project management software and creating project plans, reports, and dashboards
  • Bachelor's Degree or commensurate work experience
  • Ability to travel 40%+
