Director, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (Oracle)

About the role

TL;DR

Lead the global HR technology strategy across Oracle HCM Cloud HRIS and Payroll, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, WebFocus, integrations, analytics, security, and data governance. You will guide HRIS governance, roadmap and investment decisions, lead the team, and partner with HR, IT, Finance, vendors, and senior leaders on implementations and process improvements. The role requires 10+ years in HRIS, including at least 5 years leading teams and strategy.

The Director, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is focused on creating and delivering high-impact, customer-focused, and compliant HR solutions across the organization to support business objectives. You will serve as the functional lead across the entire HR technology stack: BI (Business Intelligence) with an Oracle Technology Stack of Oracle HCM cloud HRIS/Payroll, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, WebFocus, and other related technologies, etc. with focus on strategic design and end-to-end systems integration, automation, and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead HR technology governance processes, including prioritization, investment decisions, demand management, and roadmap planning.

  • Evaluate business requests and ensure technology investments align with enterprise HR and organizational strategy.

  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for system enhancements and new technology investments. Ensure systems focus on global consistency, scalability and data accuracy

  • Design, develop and implement Oracle Cloud solutions to meet global business requirements

  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to business and functional leaders to continuously improve and connect systems to provide a more seamless customer experience

  • Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes and partner with teams on implementation of solutions.

  • Perform regular business process reviews to make ongoing suggestions and create action plans

  • Sprint planning exercises and cross-functional resource planning that align to strategic goals/roadmap

  • Lead the HRIS team ensuring day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects

  • Ensure quality delivery of functional technical system activities, including bug fixes, incidents, projects, enhancements, etc.

  • Establish process for managing quality through all development stages (requirements, design/develop, build/configure, test, deploy) Maintain up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes and capabilities

  • Develop and promote continuous learning within the HRIS team

  • Provide support for Oracle Cloud inbound and outbound integration issues, including implementing changes to existing integrations and well as new integrations

  • Configure, maintain and advise on security within the Oracle cloud application. This includes domain security policies, roles, and role assignments.

  • Develop and sustain appropriate controls to maintain reliable data and enable scalable reporting

  • Work alongside the IT department to perform regular assessments and improvements to the HRIS

  • Lead change management efforts associated with HR technology implementations and process transformations.

  • Drive system adoption through communication, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (Benefits, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, etc.) and field teams to maximize technology utilization and customer satisfaction.

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to develop a comprehensive workforce analytics and reporting strategy.

  • Ensure the integrity, consistency, and accessibility of workforce data to support decision-making and regulatory reporting.

  • Oversee development of dashboards, metrics, and self-service reporting capabilities.

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with software vendors and implementation partners.

  • Monitor vendor performance against service level agreements and contractual commitments.

  • Assess emerging HR technologies and recommend solutions that improve business outcomes and employee experience.

  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations, internal controls, audit requirements, and SOX-related controls where applicable.

  • Establish processes to monitor and mitigate risks associated with HR systems, integrations, and employee data.

  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities related to HR technology and data governance.

Qualifications

  • A results-oriented leader with a strong customer service focus and collaborative approach

  • Must be a team player who is willing to roll-up their sleeves

  • Exceptional analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated abilities to think creatively and strategically to solve and answer key business questions/problems

  • 10+ years within HRIS with at least 5 years of leading a team and developing the strategy

  • Experience leading global system RFPs and implementations

  • Working knowledge of global data privacy laws

  • Experience preparing and presenting summary information and proposals to senior leadership

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience developing, managing, and coaching teams

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt as needed

  • Experience and proven success in developing fit for purpose, technology-enabled systems and processes

  • Expertise with vendor selection and vendor management

  • Exceptional analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated abilities to think creatively and strategically to solve and answer key business questions/problems
