Workday Training Lead
BDO
About the role
Own the Workday training workstream for a transformation programme, covering planning, curriculum design, content, scheduling, delivery, go-live support and ongoing learning. You’ll support Workday HCM, PSA, Finance and Learning users, including employees, managers, HR, Finance, professional services, super users and support teams. Create practical guides and video learning, deliver classroom, virtual and hybrid sessions, and use learner data to improve training through go-live and hypercare.
Our transformation programme is changing the way our people work, bringing together new technology, processes and ways of working across the firm. Workday is a key part of this change, supporting colleagues across People, Finance and professional services.
As Workday Training Lead, you’ll take ownership of the training approach and help ensure our people have the knowledge, confidence and practical support they need to use Workday effectively. You’ll lead the training workstream from planning and curriculum design through to content development, course scheduling, delivery, go-live support and ongoing learning.
Working closely with our Business Change Lead, Digital Technology team, functional leads and business stakeholders, you’ll translate Workday processes into clear, engaging and role-based learning experiences. The role will cover Workday HCM, PSA, Finance and Learning and will support a wide range of audiences, including employees, managers, HR, Finance, professional services teams, super users and support teams.
You’ll create practical learning materials including quick reference guides, job aids, process guidance, FAQs and video-based learning, as well as delivering live classroom, virtual and hybrid training. You’ll also coordinate course scheduling, learner communications, attendance and completion tracking, working with existing learning management systems in Ireland where required.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in a significant transformation programme and directly influence how successfully Workday is adopted across the organisation. Success in this role will require both strong Workday knowledge and the ability to turn complex processes into straightforward, practical learning experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively across the programme and wider business to understand different user needs, build role-based learning journeys and ensure training is delivered at the right point in the implementation. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the training approach, establish reusable learning standards and support users through go-live, hypercare and beyond.
You’ll use learner feedback, attendance and completion data, knowledge checks and adoption measures to continually improve the learning experience. As Workday evolves, you’ll also ensure learning materials remain accurate and aligned with system releases, process changes and enhancements.
You’ll be someone with:
Proven experience in a Workday training, enablement, learning or change/training lead role, ideally gained within a Workday implementation or transformation programme.
Demonstrable experience designing and delivering role-based Workday training for a range of business audiences.
Strong functional familiarity with Workday HCM, PSA, Finance and Learning and an ability to translate Workday functionality and business processes into practical user learning.
Experience developing high-quality quick reference guides, job aids, process guidance, FAQs and other user support materials.
Experience creating video-based learning, including demonstrations, system walk-throughs, narrated content and microlearning.
Strong experience delivering instructor-led, virtual and hybrid training to employees, managers, super users and support teams.
Experience establishing and managing training plans, curricula, learning paths and course schedules.
Experience coordinating learner enrolment, session invitations, communications, attendance and completion tracking.
Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) to assign and track learning.
The ability to work effectively with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Digital Technology, Change, Operations and professional services.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the confidence to adapt your approach for audiences with different levels of Workday knowledge.
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to simplify complex processes into clear, accessible guidance.
Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple training activities and deadlines.
An analytical approach, using learner feedback, completion information, knowledge checks and adoption measures to improve training effectiveness.
Experience supporting go-live readiness, hypercare and post-launch learning reinforcement.
A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to act as a trusted point of contact for Workday training and user enablement.
