The role includes on-call and holiday coverage, requires 2+ years of Workday HCM experience, and is open to candidates eligible for SC Clearance who have lived in the UK for the past five years.
The Workday HCM Consultant - AMS (Application Managed Services) is a Workday professional responsible for providing ongoing support, maintenance, enhancement, and optimisation of Workday HCM solutions within a managed services environment. Working across multiple client engagements, the consultant will help organisations maximise the value of their Workday investment by delivering high-quality support and functional expertise following deployment.
This role is ideal for an individual with Workday HCM knowledge who enjoys solving business challenges, supporting end users, and driving continuous improvement. The Consultant will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver operational excellence while ensuring solutions align with Workday best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Workday HCM specialist, providing post-production support across multiple client engagements.
- Support day-to-day AMS activities, including incidents, service requests, enhancements, and problem resolution.
- Partner with clients to understand business requirements and provide effective Workday HCM solutions.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve functional issues across Workday HCM modules.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security, organisational structures, and HCM-related functionality.
- Support customers through Workday releases by assessing new functionality, testing changes, and providing recommendations.
- Guide customers on Workday best practices and process optimisation opportunities.
- Develop and execute testing activities for system enhancements, configuration changes, and defect resolutions.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Track issues, risks, and service requests, communicating status and escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Support data loads, data validation, and configuration migrations between Workday tenants.
- Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders and provide a high level of customer service.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to service enhancement initiatives.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable assets, and process improvement activities.
- Actively participate in training and professional development activities to maintain and expand Workday expertise.
- Participate in on-call support and holiday coverage as required.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of Workday HCM experience in implementation, support, or AMS environments.
- Active Workday HCM Certification preferred.
- Experience supporting one or more Workday HCM functional areas such as Core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, or Learning.
- Experience gathering business requirements, testing solutions, and supporting business users.
- Strong understanding of Workday configuration, business processes, security, and tenant management activities.
- Experience troubleshooting system issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced managed services environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Eligible for SC Clearance - you must have been a UK resident for the last five years and be legally entitled to work in the UK.
