Build and support complex Workday integrations using Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, Extend, and Orchestrate, including REST/SOAP APIs, WQL, and RaaS. You’ll manage deployments, data migration, quarterly release updates, production issues, and work with HR, finance, analysts, and vendors. Requires 5+ years of Workday integration experience, 3+ years with Extend, 1+ year with Orchestrate, a Workday Pro Extend Developer I certification, and a bachelor’s degree.
As a Senior Workday Integrations Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining integrations between Workday and other internal or external systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in Workday’s integration tools, integration methodologies, Workday Extend & Orchestrate and best practices to ensure data flows smoothly and accurately between Workday and other enterprise and external system.
Responsibilities include:
Designing Integration Solutions: Lead the design and development of integration solutions between Workday and external systems (such as payroll, benefits, HR, finance, or third-party applications). Writes code, develops software components, and implements complex functionalities according to project requirements.
Workday Extend: Development and Configuration of Workday Extend Applications.
Workday Orchestrate: Design modular orchestrations, link external APIs (REST, SOAP), process data (WQL, RaaS), and manage error-handling or conditional logic.
Workday Studio: Develop complex integrations involving multiple systems, including configuring web services (REST/SOAP), developing transformation logic, and handling data mappings.
Pre-built Connectors: Leverage Workday Cloud Connect and other pre-built connectors to integrate Workday with third-party applications efficiently.
Customization: Customize integrations to meet the unique business requirements of the organization, ensuring they align with Workday’s best practices.
Develop Integration Workflows: Build integration workflows that trigger business processes in Workday or external systems, enabling data synchronization and automation.
Implementation and Deployment: Integrate various software components or systems, ensuring seamless communication and interoperability between different parts of the digital solution.
Deploy Integration Solutions: Oversee the deployment of integration solutions into production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
Data Migration: Assist with data migration efforts, ensuring that legacy data is accurately transferred to Workday and integrated with external systems where needed.
Workday Version Updates: Ensure that integrations are updated to remain compatible with Workday’s quarterly releases and apply changes to address new functionality or version updates.
Development Methodologies: Participate in Agile or other development methodologies, attend meetings, contribute to project planning, and help drive the progress and success of digital projects.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with other members of the development team and stakeholders to make high-level architectural decisions, propose design patterns, and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of digital solutions.
Work with Business Analysts and Functional Teams: Collaborate closely with functional teams (HR, finance, IT, etc.) and business analysts to understand integration requirements and align the solutions with business needs.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve issues related to integrations.
External Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors or service providers to manage external integrations, ensuring seamless data exchange and error-free processing.
Production Support: Help with ongoing support and monitoring of all integrations, managing inbound and outbound issues, and leading incident resolution processes. Act as a point of contact for resolving integration-related issues, both during the implementation phase and after go-live.
Continuous Improvement: Stayi current on emerging Workday features, updates, and trends to ensure that all integrations follow best practices and are optimized for efficiency and scalability. Explores new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation within the development team.
Workday Release Management: Stay up to date with new releases and features in Workday, assessing the impact on existing integrations and planning necessary updates.
Document Integration Workflows: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant documentation while sharing their knowledge and expertise with team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.
Training and Support: Guide and mentor developers, analysts, and other technical staff on the integration of tools and processes, ensuring proper adoption and understanding of the Workday system.
Foster Collaboration: Build strong relationships across teams to facilitate collaboration and ensure that integration efforts are aligned with broader organizational objectives.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and come up with effective solutions.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with various stakeholders effectively.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience building Workday Integrations with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, and other relevant tools
5+ years' experience partnering with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
5+ years of experience resolving complex technical issues related to Workday integrations using strong analytical skills
5+ years' experience with Workday SOAP API, REST API, JSON, and Import API pattern
3+ years’ experience working on Workday Extend
1+ year of experience working on Workday Orchestrate
1+ year of experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields and Studio
1+ year of experience with Workday security, Core HCM business processes, and alerts
Workday Pro Workday Extend Developer I Certification

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$83,430.00 - $222,480.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
