The Senior Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight of HR technology initiatives with an emphasis on Workday and associated HR systems. We are seeking a hands-on Workday configuration authority who will act as a strategic partner to the Director, HRIS, while helping shape and scale our broader HR technology ecosystem. This role is responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable Workday solutions and ensuring seamless integration and alignment across current and future HR systems. The ideal candidate combines deep Workday expertise with the ability to think beyond a single platform, enabling a connected, scalable, and future-ready HR tech landscape.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Serve as a hands-on expert across Workday modules (Core HCM, Talent, Comp, Integrations)

  • Lead end-to-end design and configuration, balancing scalability, usability, and compliance

  • Define and enforce configuration standards, naming conventions, and design principles

  • Anticipate downstream impacts (integrations, reporting, data integrity) and design

  • Ensure Workday design decisions align with broader HR technology architecture and future system integrations

Strategic Partnership and Influence

  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR, COEs, IT, Finance, and business leaders

  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear solution options with trade-offs

  • Proactively influencing priorities and decisions, not just responding to requests

  • Strengthening stakeholder confidence in the HR Tech Team as a strategic enabler

Governance and Operating Model

  • Own and evolve demand intake, prioritization, and decision frameworks

  • Drive global consistency while allowing for business nuance where needed

  • Ensure strong documentation, audit readiness, and change control discipline

Delivery and Excellence with Execution

  • Lead complex Workday initiatives from design through deployment

  • Reduce rework through strong upfront design and stakeholder alignment

  • Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery with a focus on long-term sustainability

  • Identify automation and optimization opportunities across HR processes

Data Reporting and Insights

  • Leverage data to support decision-making and process improvements

  • Build or guide development of advanced reports and dashboards

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and usability across stakeholders

Incidental Know-how

  • Remain informed about technical advancements by exploring cutting-edge development tools, programming methods, and computing equipment.

  • Engage in professional development activities, maintain relevant networks, and participate in industry organizations.

What you’ll need (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and a minimum of 15 years of HRIS/HR technology experience, or a master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience.

  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Workday configuration and system integrations.

  • Demonstrated success in project management.

  • Experience designing complex, cross-module Workday solutions

  • Strong understanding of integrations, security, business processes, and data structures

  • Proven ability to operate in global, matrixed environments

What else we look for (Preferred)

  • Workday certifications (HCM, Compensation, Talent and/or Integrations strongly preferred)

  • Experience with Workday integrations (e.g., Studio, EIB, APIs)

  • Familiarity with reporting tools, SQL, or advanced analytics concepts

  • Experience establishing or maturing HRIS governance models

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, including negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic environment.

  • Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and HRIS systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation competencies.

  • Ability to discern and address analytical requirements in ambiguous contexts.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to issue escalation.

  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to team achievement.
