HR Benefits and Systems Manager (UKG)

About the role

TL;DR

Own day-to-day benefits and retirement administration, including open enrollment, ACA compliance, billing, 401(k)/403(b) activity, audits, and vendor relationships. You’ll also serve as a UKG-focused HRIS subject matter expert, handling system configuration, reporting, security, and projects with HR, IT, and Finance. This is a full-time, in-person role, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a $85,000 to $90,000 salary.

The HR Benefits and Systems Manager owns the day-to-day administration of Eliot's benefits and retirement programs and serves as one of the agency's HRIS subject matter experts, partnering closely within HR and with IT and Finance to keep our systems accurate, secure and running well. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys both the people side of benefits and the technical side of HR systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administration of all Agency benefits, serving as the primary contact for plan vendors, brokers and third-party administrators and as a go-to resource for staff on benefits questions.
  • Lead new hire benefits orientation and coordinate open enrollment, including materials, communications and meetings.
  • Manage ACA compliance, census reporting for brokers and leadership, and approval/reconciliation of all benefit billing (medical, dental, vision, life, accident, LTD, etc).
  • Administer all 401(k)/403(b)/deferred compensation retirement plan activities, including deductions, loans, rollovers, distributions, compliance testing and audit support, and biweekly plan file transfers; serve on the Retirement Plan Committee.
  • Serve as an HRIS subject matter expert, configuring, maintaining and upgrading system modules in partnership with HR, IT, and Finance.
  • Co-lead HRIS projects and system changes from planning through implementation, including technical documentation and monitoring project timelines.
  • Build and distribute HR reporting (ad hoc and recurring) while maintaining data security, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Keep the Agency current on benefits and HR-systems compliance with applicable federal and state law and Eliot's Corporate Compliance program.
  • Maintain strong, professional working relationships with staff and external partners; perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in a related field with at least 3 years of direct benefits administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit plans and regulatory compliance
  • Proven proficiency in managing major HRIS platforms (UKG preferred) with a strong aptitude for learning new HR technologies
  • Effective communication, collaboration and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Schedule: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday; in-person (Lexington, MA)
