About the role

TL;DR

Lead the payroll workstream during the Discovery phase of an SAP payroll migration, assessing requirements, scope, costs, plans, risks, resources, and migration tools including Epi-Use and Spinifex. You’ll need expert SAP HCM Payroll configuration experience across S/4 and/or ECC, plus functional consulting or architecture experience. The initial contract is 3 months with potential extension, working 2 days in the office and 3 remotely, with BPSS clearance required.

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Payroll Lead Functional Consultant / Architect to work on the Discovery phase of a payroll migration programme as the workstream lead for the payroll workstream. The role will focus on assessing business requirements, migration tooling, scope, planning, costs, risks, and resource requirements to support the transition into the next Foundation phase.

What you will do:

  • Analyse client business requirements and determine impacts on the existing payroll scope within the current ROM.

  • Collaborate with the Data Lead to assess migration tools from Epi-Use and Spinifex and make recommendations to the client.

  • Update the existing ROM in collaboration with colleagues, revising payroll scope, plans, and estimated costs based on Discovery findings.

  • Support the Engagement Manager in producing the SOW for the next Foundation phase, specifically covering payroll scope, planning, and resource profiles.

  • Maintain the workstream plan covering migration tooling assessment, recommendations, and business requirement impact assessments.

  • Identify and manage risks and issues within areas of responsibility, including associated mitigations and resolutions.

  • Produce weekly status reports covering areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate expert-level SAP HCM Payroll configuration experience across S/4 and/or ECC.

  • Leverage functional consulting or architecture experience within SAP HCM Payroll environments.

  • Apply strong experience analyzing payroll business requirements and assessing impacts on existing scope.

  • Support payroll migration programmes, Discovery activities, or similar transformation initiatives.

  • Assess and recommend migration tooling, ideally including Epi-Use and Spinifex.

  • Apply strong skills in scope definition, workstream planning, cost estimation, and resource profiling.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks and issues.

  • Communicate and engage effectively across business, data, and technical teams.
