HRIS Manager (Dayforce)

About the role

TL;DR

Lead Dayforce HRIS administration, payroll system support, implementations, reporting, and cross-functional improvement projects in an onsite role. You’ll own configuration, testing, data integrity, integrations, compliance controls, and vendor coordination. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of HRIS experience, with strong payroll knowledge and implementation leadership.

We’re looking for a strategic, technology-focused HRIS Manager to lead the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Strattec’s human resources information systems. This role will serve as a subject matter expert for HR technology, with a strong emphasis on payroll, system implementation, process improvement, data integrity, reporting, and project execution.

The HRIS Manager will partner closely with HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and business leaders to ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable HR operations. The ideal candidate brings deep HRIS expertise, strong payroll knowledge, proven implementation experience, and a track record of leading cross-functional projects that improve processes, system capabilities, and the employee and manager experience. Experience with Dayforce is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Administration & Optimization

  • Manage and maintain the company’s HRIS platform, ensuring system integrity, security, reliability, and performance

  • Serve as the primary HRIS subject matter expert and escalation point for system issues, enhancements, and functionality

  • Configure, test, and deploy system updates, patches, workflows, business processes, and functionality improvements

  • Monitor and maintain data accuracy, governance standards, and compliance requirements

Payroll & Workforce Systems

  • Partner closely with Payroll to support payroll processing, system configuration, audits, and issue resolution

  • Ensure HRIS and payroll system integrations function effectively and accurately

  • Develop and maintain payroll-related system controls and validation procedures

  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements

System Implementations & Enhancements

  • Lead HR technology implementations, upgrades, conversions, and optimization initiatives

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions

  • Coordinate testing strategies, user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, and deployment activities

  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with implementation partners

Process Improvement

  • Analyze existing HR and payroll processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency, automation, and standardization

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and improve service delivery

  • Develop system documentation, process maps, procedures, and training materials

  • Champion best practices in HR technology and operational excellence

Project Management

  • Lead multiple HRIS and payroll-related projects simultaneously from initiation through completion

  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and communication strategies

  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables

Reporting & Analytics

  • Design, develop, and maintain HR, payroll, compliance, and workforce reports

  • Support organizational reporting needs through dashboards, metrics, and data analysis

  • Ensure data accuracy and provide insights that support business decision-making

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of HRIS experience with increasing levels of responsibility

  • Strong payroll knowledge and experience supporting payroll systems and processes

  • Demonstrated experience leading HRIS implementations, upgrades, or system conversions

  • Proven project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives

  • Experience driving process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced reporting and data management capabilities

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

  • Direct experience with Dayforce (Ceridian Dayforce)

  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll operations

  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, SHRM, HRCI, or related certifications

  • Experience working with HR system integrations and data migration projects

  • Knowledge of HR, payroll, benefits, time and attendance, and talent management systems
