About the role
Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our payroll and accounting functions.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, follows through on commitments, enjoys being part of a team, and is always looking for ways to learn and improve.
The position may be structured as part-time or fractional, depending on the experience and availability of the right candidate.
What You'll Do
Process payroll accurately and on schedule
Review employee hours, pay rates, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll information
Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records
Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and other payroll changes
Assist with payroll tax reporting and compliance
Reconcile payroll reports and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
Maintain PTO, sick time, and other payroll-related records
Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
Support general accounting and bookkeeping functions as needed
Respond to employee and management payroll questions professionally and promptly
Continually look for opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency
What We're Looking For
Previous payroll processing experience
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the team
Dependability and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
Preferred Experience
UKG Ready experience preferred
QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred
Experience with payroll reporting, payroll taxes, and reconciliations
Bookkeeping or general accounting experience is a plus
