The HRIS & Benefits Senior Specialist owns our HR technology ecosystem (UKG Ready), benefits and leave administration, and HR policy governance while serving as the key HR partner to Payroll.

This role is the connective tissue between HR, Payroll, and our workforce systems, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and a great employee experience across the full employee lifecycle.

This is a high-ownership, detail-driven role for someone who is equal parts systems thinker, curious, and people-first problem solver.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Serve as the primary system administrator and subject matter expert for UKG Ready and the ATS, overseeing system configuration, workflows, security roles, data integrity, upgrades, and vendor support.
  • Manage HRIS reporting, integrations, audits, and testing, partnering with IT and business stakeholders to ensure accurate data, effective system functionality, and seamless connections with payroll, benefits, ATS, and other platforms.
  • Own and continuously improve end-to-end HR system processes, including employee lifecycle workflows, open enrollment builds, approval routing, and manager/employee self-service. Develop user training and documentation to support effective system adoption.
  • Oversee the end-to-end administration of health, welfare, and wellness programs, including vendor and broker relationships, renewals, plan design, benchmarking, cost management, and employee engagement.
  • Lead annual open enrollment and serve as a primary resource for benefits-related questions, ensuring effective communications, system configuration, employee support, and positive benefits experience.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA/accommodations, disability, and personal leave, while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state requirements, required notices and filings, and consistent handling of complex employee cases.
  • Cultivate a strong relationship with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll-related activities.
  • Administer pay increases and manage payroll-related administrative tasks, ensuring alignment with company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, partnering with leaders to ensure that they are clear, practical, consistently applied, and aligned with company values and organizational needs.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, proactively updating policies and practices to maintain compliance and serving as a resource for employee policy questions.

What we’re looking for :

  • Education & Experience: An associate degree or bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience may be considered. 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including demonstrated ownership of HRIS administration, benefits administration, and leave of absence programs. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Technology: Strong proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms, with UKG Ready experience strongly preferred. Experience with similar systems will be considered. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (e.g., PPT, Excel, Teams). A high degree of curiosity and openness to exploring new technologies.
  • HR Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FMLA, ACA, ERISA, and applicable state leave requirements.
  • Analytical & Operational Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build reports, audit data, identify discrepancies, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented, empathetic approach and the ability to build trust and effectively partner with employees and leaders at all levels.
