About the role
This onsite consultant contract focuses on Workday organization and position data, security configuration, and alignment with WINGS and SAP HR. You’ll cleanse and reconcile global and country-office structures, manage mass data updates, review access and segregation-of-duties conflicts, and support testing, audits, and releases. It requires at least five years in HR or IT, hands-on HR systems experience, fluent English, and intermediate knowledge of another UN language or Portuguese.
WFP’s HR Technology and Analytics Branch (HRMOI) powers the digital backbone of HR, delivering smart tools, data, and strategy to streamline processes, drive decisions, and elevate experience.
The HRMOI provide the digital backbone of HR, enabling the effective delivery of HR operational processes through standardized business processes, high-quality data, and enterprise HR technologies.
HRMOI leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HR Division’s technology strategy and roadmap, supporting integrated talent management and ensuring full visibility and integrity of the global workforce. This is achieved through enterprise HR platforms that integrate people processes, data, and intelligence across corporate and satellite systems, and through analytics and digital tools that support evidence-based decision-making across the employee lifecycle.
The HRMOI Branch consists of 5 workstreams:

HR Technology and Talent Solutions
People Analytics and Reporting
Organizational Governance
HR Enablement and Systems Adoption
The prefect candidate would have ideally experience in Workday implementation in a similar position and a good understanding of HR business processes to be able to work efficiently with our technical and business stakeholders.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Lead of Organization, Positions and HR System Security, the consultant will provide technical expertise to strengthen the integrity, governance, and alignment of Workday organizational data and security configurations.
The position will focus on delivering measurable improvements in data quality, system consistency, and access control compliance, ensuring alignment across organizational structures and integrated systems. The role will be accountable for:
Organization Data Cleansing & Alignment
Delivering validated and reconciled organizational datasets in Workday, ensuring structural integrity, referential consistency, and compliance with governance standards.
Producing harmonized organizational and position data across Workday and WINGS, ensuring alignment between Global HQ and Country Office structures, including hierarchies, attributes, and financial objects.
Executing and documenting end-to-end mass data maintenance activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability across extraction, transformation, load, and reconciliation phases.
Strengthening data governance controls, delivering improvements in validation rules, monitoring mechanisms, and data quality standards for Organization and Position Management.
Workday Security Configuration
Supporting the delivery of aligned and compliant Workday security configurations, role-based and user-based security groups and assignable roles.
Contributing to access review cycles, including validation of user access rights; identification of segregation of duties (SoD) conflicts, and implementation of mitigation actions.
Supporting audit readiness and compliance, including preparation of documentation, validation of role mappings, and resolution of audit observations related to access controls.
Assessing and mitigating risks associated with organizational or process changes, ensuring no adverse impact on security or access consistency.
Supporting security testing activities (Unit, End-to-End, Integration), ensuring completeness and reliability of security configurations.
Ensuring synchronization between organizational structures and security frameworks, enabling dynamic and accurate role-based access.
Contributing to system releases and continuous improvement cycles, ensuring proper validation, testing, and stabilization of changes.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education
Advanced university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or Finance, or First level university degree with additional relevant work experience.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources or IT.
Hands-on experience working with HR systems (preferably Workday), including configuration, data management, or process improvement.
Exposure to HR digital transformation or system enhancement projects, with the ability to work across functional and technical teams.
Proven experience in organizational structure and position management, preferably within a complex or global organization.
Experience with HR Data management and data analysis.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge and exposure to corporate information systems, working with SAP HR modules and Workday system.
Good knowledge and ability to interpret HR data, rules and regulations.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong time management skills with an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work on tight deadlines.
Attention to details and strong coordinating skills.
Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and outside WFP in order to effectively contribute to the functioning of the unit.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages).
