Workday Integration Lead

About the role

TL;DR

This onsite role includes up to 10% travel and requires 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration development plus Workday Integration Core certification. You’ll design and support integrations across multi-tenant environments using EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Cloud Connect, PECI, PICOF, and REST/SOAP services. The work covers integration security, data flows, monitoring, and semi-annual release testing across HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, and Financials.

The Workday Integration Lead will be responsible for developing and maintaining Welltower’s Workday integration landscape, with a primary focus on the integration registry and the full portfolio of integrations that support our operators and multi-tenant environments. This is a full-time role based in Dallas, TX. Partnering closely with HRIS, technology, finance, and operator teams, the Workday Integration Lead will design, build, and support scalable, secure integrations while ensuring reliable, well-governed data flows across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain the full portfolio of Workday integrations using EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and web services (REST/SOAP) across operator and multi-tenant environments.

  • Build and maintain a centralized integration registry that catalogs every integration, including data flows, ownership, dependencies, run schedules, and downstream systems.

  • Develop and support integrations for operators and across multi-tenant Workday environments, ensuring proper data segregation, scalability, and security.

  • Partner with HRIS, Finance, IT, and operator stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into secure, scalable technical integration designs.

  • Partner with WBS Data warehouse team to facilitate data extracts and respective integration tools usage.

  • Monitor integration health and performance, troubleshoot failures, and implement robust error handling, logging, and alerting to ensure reliability across tenants.

  • Support semi-annual Workday releases through regression testing, impact analysis, and remediation, while maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and reusable integration frameworks.

Travel

Limited travel expected (up to 10%).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday integration development experience, including EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio. Workday Integration Core certification

  • Proven experience building and supporting integrations across multi-tenant Workday environments and with external operators and vendors

  • Strong knowledge of Workday web services (REST/SOAP), XML, XSLT, calculated fields, and integration security configuration

  • Hands-on experience across Workday integration tooling, including EIB (inbound/outbound), Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, PICOF, and Document Transformation (DT)

  • Proficiency with XSLT, XPath, XML, and JSON, and building or consuming SOAP and REST web services, including WSDL/XSD, WS-Security, and MTOM

  • Working knowledge of Workday functional data models across HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, and Financials

  • Experience configuring integration security (integration system security groups and security policies), managing X.509 certificates and PGP encryption, SFTP/FTPS file transport, and deploying and migrating integrations across Sandbox, Implementation, and Production tenants

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • Workday Integration Pro strongly preferred

  • Workday Studio certification

  • Workday Extend certification

  • Experience with middleware or iPaaS platforms such as mulesoft and data warehouse such as Snowflake, with enterprise scheduling and monitoring tools
