About the role
Based onsite in Dallas, this role needs 5+ years of hands-on Workday reporting, analytics, or data management experience. You’ll build advanced, matrix, and composite reports across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Time Tracking, and Absence, using SQL to validate data and support implementations, production issues, and semi-annual releases. The role supports multiple Operators and multi-tenant environments, with up to 10% travel.
The Workday Operational Reporting Specialist will be responsible for developing and supporting Welltower’s Workday operational reporting and analytics capabilities across multiple Operators and multi-tenant environments. This is a full-time role based in Dallas, TX. Partnering closely with the Workday HCM Functional Lead, Workday Integration Lead, HRIS, technology, finance, data warehouse, and Operator teams, this role will translate operational requirements into scalable Workday reports, data models, and analytics while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, security, and usability of Workday data.
The Workday Operational Reporting Specialist will serve as the data and reporting-focused resource across new Workday implementations and ongoing production support, connecting functional configuration and integration data flows to the reporting and analytical outputs Operators need to manage their businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Workday operational reports and analytics across Operator and multi-tenant environments, including advanced, matrix, and composite reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and supporting reporting data structures.
Partner with Operators and internal stakeholders to gather reporting and analytical requirements, understand operational business questions, and translate those needs into scalable Workday reporting solutions and standardized reporting frameworks.
Serve as the reporting and data partner to the Workday HCM Functional Lead and Workday Integration Lead during new Operator implementations, validating that functional configuration, source data, integrations, and reporting outputs align throughout testing, go-live, and post-go-live support.
Perform data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and troubleshooting across Workday and downstream reporting environments, using SQL and other analytical tools where appropriate to identify data discrepancies, understand root causes, and ensure reliable operational reporting.
Partner with the WBS Data warehouse team to support Workday data extracts, reporting datasets, and downstream analytics, helping establish consistent data definitions and ensuring Workday information is accurately represented within enterprise reporting environments.
Build and maintain standardized operational reporting across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence, and other Workday functional areas, while supporting Operator-specific reporting needs where appropriate.
Establish reporting governance and documentation, including report inventories, data definitions, calculated field standards, report ownership, security requirements, dependencies, and reusable reporting templates across Operators and tenants.
Monitor reporting accuracy and performance, troubleshoot data and report issues, and provide hands-on production support for Operators, including root-cause analysis and coordination with functional, integration, and technology teams when issues extend beyond the reporting layer.
Support semi-annual Workday releases through report regression testing, impact analysis, data validation, and remediation, ensuring reporting and analytical outputs continue to operate accurately following Workday configuration and platform changes.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday reporting, analytics, data management, or related Workday technical capabilities in an enterprise, consulting, managed-services, or multi-customer environment
Prism analytics and RaaS (Reporting as a Service) experience preferred
Advanced proficiency building and maintaining Workday reports, including advanced, matrix, and composite reports, with strong understanding of Workday data sources, business objects, calculated fields, prompts, filters, related business objects, and report security
Strong SQL skills with demonstrated experience querying, validating, reconciling, and analyzing large datasets across Workday, enterprise data warehouses, and other operational data platforms
Experience translating business and operational requirements into scalable reporting, analytics, dashboards, data extracts, and recurring operational reporting solutions
Strong working knowledge of Workday functional data models across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, and other relevant Workday modules
Experience developing data validation, reconciliation, and quality-control processes to ensure accuracy and consistency between Workday reporting, integrations, source systems, and downstream data environments
Ability to partner with Workday Functional Leads to understand business processes, configuration, and Operator requirements and translate those requirements into actionable reporting and analytics solutions
Ability to partner with Workday Integration Specialists and data warehouse teams to define reporting data requirements, validate inbound and outbound data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support reliable data movement between Workday and downstream platforms
Working knowledge of Workday security, including report security, data source security, domain security policies, security groups, and appropriate access controls for sensitive workforce and operational data
Experience supporting Workday implementations, including requirements gathering, report development, data validation, testing, user acceptance testing, go-live readiness, and post-production reporting support
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis across Workday reports, calculated fields, business processes, integrations, and downstream datasets
Experience supporting semi-annual Workday releases through impact analysis, regression testing, report validation, and remediation of reporting or data-related issues
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple Operator or stakeholder reporting needs simultaneously while maintaining standardized reporting frameworks, documentation, data definitions, and governance
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex Workday data, reporting logic, and analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
Workday reporting certification or relevant Workday Pro accreditation strongly preferred
Advanced experience with Workday reporting capabilities, including calculated fields, dashboards, report security, and complex data source configuration
Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, Discovery Boards, or other Workday analytics and data capabilities
Experience with enterprise data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience supporting multi-entity, multi-tenant, consulting, managed-services, or shared-services environments with standardized reporting and analytics across multiple Operators or customers
