Salary: Circa £45k
Location: Hybrid working, Huntingdon base
Contract: 18 month Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week (flexible working opportunities available)

Are you a Workday specialist looking for an opportunity to use your technical expertise to improve systems, processes and colleague experience?

We’re looking for a People Systems Specialist to join our People Systems team. You’ll play a key role in developing, configuring and enhancing Workday, providing technical and analytical expertise and supporting the wider People team and business leaders to make informed decisions.

You’ll support the day-to-day operation of Workday, helping to resolve BAU queries and system issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work with stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and help develop practical system solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide day-to-day support across Workday, helping to investigate and resolve queries and system issues, with support from more experienced team members where needed.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of Workday business processes, including approval steps, rules and other system configuration.
  • Create and maintain Workday reports and calculated fields, developing your reporting skills to help provide useful information and insight to the business.
  • Support data uploads using EIBs and assist with the maintenance and testing of Workday integrations and interfaces.
  • Support Workday security and access management, helping to ensure colleague data is appropriately protected and assisting with regular access reviews and audits.
  • Contribute to Workday release activity, including testing new functionality, identifying impacts and supporting implementation and communication.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve Workday functionality and processes, making the system easier and more effective for colleagues to use.
  • Work closely with People teams, IT partners and stakeholders across the business to understand their needs and help develop effective system solutions.

What you’ll need

You’ll have practical experience of working with Workday, with some exposure to configuration, reporting or system support. You’ll have good analytical and problem-solving skills, an interest in how systems can improve People processes, and be keen to develop your Workday knowledge and technical capability further.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have experience or knowledge of one or more of the Workday areas we currently have live, including:

  • Time Off & Absence
  • Time Recording / Overtime
  • Learning
  • Talent
  • Performance
  • Expenses
  • Organisational Management
  • Benefits
  • Compensation / Advanced Compensation
  • Recruiting
  • Workday Extend

You don't need experience across all of these areas. Knowledge or hands-on experience in one or more would be beneficial, with opportunities to broaden your Workday expertise within the role.

You’ll also ideally have experience in some of the following:

  • Workday reporting and calculated fields, or an interest in developing your reporting capability.
  • Supporting Workday business process configuration and testing.
  • Using EIBs or other data-loading tools.
  • Supporting integrations between Workday and other systems.
  • Workday security and access management.
  • Testing system changes and supporting Workday release activity.
  • Working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Working within a People/HR environment, with an understanding of HR processes.

Exposure to Workday Extend would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Most importantly, you’ll be curious, analytical and keen to learn, with good attention to detail and a willingness to develop your Workday expertise as part of the role.
