Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud Functional Lead

About the role

TL;DR

Lead Oracle HCM Cloud design and implementation, working with HR, IT, and business teams to turn requirements into configured solutions. Own production issue resolution, monthly and quarterly patching, testing, release readiness, documentation, and workforce data loads with HDL. The role requires four years of relevant experience and includes an emergency response assignment that may require nights, weekends, and holidays.

Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud Functional Lead is responsible for leading and implementing changes to HCM modules based on business requirements. This involves gathering and documenting requirements, designing configurations, managing implementations, and providing expert guidance on best practices. Key duties include collaborating with business and technical teams on configuring changes, addressing defects, loading data, leading testing efforts, to ensure successful delivery and support.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional lead and subject matter expert for Oracle HCM Cloud, partnering with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to align system capabilities with organizational objectives.

  • Identify, triage, track, resolve, and validate production issues in partnership with onsite, offshore, and Oracle technical teams, ensuring timely remediation and minimal business disruption.

  • Manage Oracle HCM Cloud monthly and quarterly patching, maintenance, and release readiness activities, including impact assessment, testing coordination, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.

  • Partner with business owners to define requirements, develop functional design documentation, translate business needs into solutions, conduct testing, and support implementation.

  • Create and maintain system documentation, functional specifications, operating procedures, and end-user training materials.

  • Perform workforce and worker data loads and conversions using tools such as HCM Data Loader (HDL).

  • Comply with the Companys Standards of Business Conduct; Data and Cyber Security requirements; and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) policies and practices.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years relevant work experience or

  • Associate's Degree and 5 years relevant work experience or

  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years relevant work experience

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 4 years relevant work experience including Oracle HCM Cloud experience

Relevant Work Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end system design and implementation, required.

  • Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies, required.

  • Strong communication, project management, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, required.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments while working under tight deadlines, required.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud, preferred.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, industry best practices, policies, and compliance requirements, preferred.

  • Proficiency with the Oracle HCM Functional Setup Manager (FSM), preferred.

  • Experience with data loading tools like HDL and knowledge of reporting tools such as OTBI, preferred.

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
