Workday Developer Sr

About the role

TL;DR

Build and support Workday HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Recruiting, and related HR system integrations, reports, dashboards, and configuration. You’ll work with HR, Finance, IT, and other teams to automate processes and support compliant solutions. The role requires 3+ years in programming or analysis and HRIS configuration, with less than 25% travel. Workday certification is preferred; pay is $92,280 to $150,562.

This position will be responsible for implementing the automation of processes around the systems supported by the Human Resources department, which include Workday Human Resource Management, Workday Payroll and Time Tracking, Workday Applicant Tracking, Inspired Learning Management System, and IBM Compensation Management system. Increased data integrity will occur when the manual processes for integrating data across systems (both internal and external) are replaced with automated programs. The position is required to develop reports and dashboards in Workday to provide Flagstar management with timely information for personnel decision making. Additional management self service capabilities will be configured in Workday to remove the paper tracking of personnel changes within the company. The position will work with system users in gathering their requirements and then configuring Workday for optimum support of the business processes. This position provides Human Resource Management solution support and acts as a technical point-of-contact for Finance, IT, and other business units throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply Software Development Life Cycle methodologies to design, build, and test cycles. Design and build end to end technical solutions for complex business problems, including integration development, report and dashboard development, system configuration, and supporting applications and services.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify work process deficiencies and system requirements to effectively implement the design of HRM solutions that anticipate customer needs and result in best-in-class HR work processes.

  • Manage (and conduct as required) the daily processing of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactional activity between company systems and third party vendor systems, ensuring adherence to all information security policies.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system design and process workflows, test plans and business continuity plans, as well as end-user training as required.

  • Stay abreast of new features and functionality and provide recommendations for software improvements. Evaluate software releases and perform system testing prior to release launch.

Additional Accountabilities

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.

  • 3+ years of programming/analysis experience especially related to reporting and integration development.

  • 3+ years of configuration experience with HRIS systems and related processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).

  • Certified in Workday HCM configuration and maintenance.

  • Workday experience.

Job Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of integrations and web services standards and technologies (e.g., SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, XSLT).

  • Experience with HCM implementations including hands-on configuration as it relates to HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Recruiting, Time Tracking, and Payroll.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Understanding of HR and Payroll laws as it relates towards developing compliant solutions.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.

  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.

  • Less than 25% travel required.
