About the role

TL;DR

Remote contract role for a US work-authorized specialist with 3+ years in HRIS integrations. You’ll build and support APIs, connectors, and automation between UKG Pro HCM modules and payroll, benefits, ATS, financial, and other third-party systems. The work includes SQL, XML, JSON, middleware such as Boomi or Workato, security controls, troubleshooting, and leading integration workstreams with client stakeholders.

We're seeking an experienced UKG HCM Integrations Specialist Contractor to design, build, and maintain integrations between UKG Pro HCM (HR Core, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent Management) and the third-party systems our clients rely on. This role ensures clean, secure, and reliable data flow across the HCM ecosystem - connecting UKG to payroll providers, benefits carriers, ATS platforms, financial systems, and more - while partnering closely with client stakeholders to keep every integration aligned to real business needs.

What You Will Do:

Integration Development & Support

  • Design, build, and deploy integrations between UKG Pro HCM and third-party HR, payroll, benefits, and financial systems

  • Develop APIs, connectors, and automation scripts for real-time and batch data synchronization (including carrier feeds, payroll interfaces, and ATS/onboarding data exchanges)

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across every integration point in the HCM data flow

System Optimization & Configuration

  • Analyze business requirements to configure UKG HCM modules - HR Core, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and Onboarding - for accurate, efficient data exchange

  • Troubleshoot integration errors and recommend best practices for data mapping and system communication

  • Implement role-based access and security controls to protect employee data across connected systems

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and external vendors to keep systems working together seamlessly

  • Lead integration workstreams within larger UKG projects - upgrades, migrations, and new module rollouts

  • Document integration architecture and train end-users on how the connected systems function

Performance Monitoring & Compliance

  • Conduct data integrity audits and ensure integrations comply with labor, payroll, and data privacy regulations

  • Monitor integration performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize workflows

  • Stay current on UKG Pro HCM updates and proactively recommend integration enhancements

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, HR Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in HRIS integration, preferably with UKG Pro HCM or a comparable HCM platform

  • Proficiency in API development, XML, JSON, and middleware tools (Boomi, Workato, or similar)

  • Experience with SQL queries and data mapping across HR, payroll, and benefits data sets

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot integration issues independently

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders

  • Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

What Would Make You an Outstanding Candidate

  • UKG Pro certification or hands-on experience optimizing UKG HCM modules

  • Experience with workforce analytics and business intelligence reporting

  • Working knowledge of compliance regulations related to payroll, benefits administration, and employee data privacy

  • Prior experience supporting integrations in a client-facing or consulting environment
