About the role

TL;DR

This is a six-month, full-time remote contract, Monday to Friday with eight-hour shifts. You will lead a critical Leave of Absence and Payroll initiative, coordinating People Operations, Benefits, HR Technology, and external partners while managing risks, dependencies, blockers, and Workday integration testing. The role requires 5+ years in People Operations, Payroll, HR Technology, HRIS, or a related area, hands-on Workday HCM, Payroll, or Absence experience, and a bachelor's degree.

If you are a Project Manager who knows Workday, Payroll, and Leave of Absence processes and enjoys bringing structure to complex, cross functional programs, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a high priority initiative with significant operational impact.

You will lead coordination across People Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Time Away, HR Technology, and external partners to improve a critical Leave of Absence process and Workday integration. You will be responsible for keeping multiple teams aligned, managing dependencies and risks, coordinating testing, resolving blockers, and driving the program toward successful delivery.

You will be most successful in this role if you have worked within a large, complex enterprise environment and can combine strong project leadership with hands on knowledge of Workday and Payroll or Leave of Absence processes. Experience within Big Tech, financial services, or another large organization is particularly relevant.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end to end project coordination for a critical Leave of Absence and Payroll initiative

  • Bring multiple People Operations, Payroll, Benefits, HR Technology, and partner teams together around shared deliverables

  • Manage project timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and escalations

  • Coordinate integration testing across Workday and related HR and Payroll platforms

  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing priorities

  • Identify blockers and proactively drive resolution

  • Maintain clear status reporting and stakeholder communication

  • Support additional Payroll and HR transformation initiatives as capacity allows

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations, Payroll, HR Technology, HRIS, or a related area

  • Hands on experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, or Absence

  • Strong understanding of Payroll processing and Leave of Absence policies and processes

  • Experience supporting HR or Payroll system integrations

  • Proven success managing cross functional projects within a large enterprise

  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks, and competing priorities

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice to Have

Experience with Lincoln Financial or another absence or disability management provider, end to end leave processing, Workday integration testing, People Operations within a large technology company, or a PMP, Prince2, or similar project management certification would be valuable
