About the role
The Functional Lead is a pivotal role in our Workday-enabled HR Transformation programs. You will drive functional strategy and key decisions in close collaboration with both internal and client-side Project Managers and Technical Leads. Depending on the project scope and complexity, you may also step into specialized Workday lead roles, such as Core HCM or Core Compensation Lead.
Your Responsibilities
- Stream Leadership: Lead the functional Workday HCM streams across all project phases (plan, design, build, test, deploy, hypercare).
- Workshops & Design: Lead client workshops to gather functional requirements, define to-be processes and roles, and establish global design principles.
- Solution Advisory: Translate business requirements into Workday configurations while advising clients on technical capabilities and local/industry-specific needs.
- Flexible Role Execution: Depending on project size, step into additional roles (e.g., Project Lead, Core HCM Lead, Core Compensation Lead) and mentor assigned Support Consultants.
- Team & Quality Management: Manage internal and client team members (onsite, nearshore, offshore) and oversee all testing activities (SIT, UAT, Parallel Payroll) through sign-off.
- Go-Live & Support: Guide clients through release management, governance, and post-go-live support.
- Business Development: Support leadership in (pre-)sales activities (scoping, estimates, proposals, presentations) and contribute to growing our HR Solutions portfolio.
What You Bring
- Experience: 3–5 years of Workday HCM experience within a consulting environment.
- Certifications: Certified in Workday HCM; additional certifications are a plus (e.g., Core Compensation, Reporting & Analytics, Security, Talent & Performance, Recruiting, Project Management).
- Consulting Skills: Strong client advisory skills across different organizational levels and proven expertise in leading workshops.
- Project Track Record: Experience with multi-industry and multi-country implementations.
- Languages: Professional fluency (C1) in both English and German.
