What’s the Role?

The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the configuration, support, testing, and continuous improvement of Workday and related HR technologies. This hands-on role supports assigned Workday functional areas while developing broader knowledge across the platform.

The HRIS Analyst partners with HR and technology teams to maintain effective business processes, resolve production issues, deliver enhancements, and support reliable HR technology operations.

Responsibilities

Workday Configuration & Support

  • Configure, test, and maintain Workday functionality across assigned functional areas and business processes.
  • Deliver enhancements and resolve production issues based on defined business requirements and priorities.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, calculated fields, business processes, and related configuration.
  • Support data changes, EIBs, mass updates, and other operational HRIS activities.
  • Maintain accurate configuration, process, and support documentation.

Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with HR and technology teams throughout requirements, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Support Workday releases through feature review, impact analysis, regression testing, and implementation.
  • Apply established standards for configuration, security, testing, documentation, and change management.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience, and reduce recurring support issues.
  • Support security, data-quality, audit, and compliance activities.
  • Develop knowledge across multiple Workday functional areas to provide effective team coverage and support.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HRIS, Workday, or related enterprise applications experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or configuring Workday or a comparable enterprise HR platform.
  • Experience with business processes, reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new functional areas and work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on Workday configuration experience in one or more functional areas such as Core HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Benefits, Absence, or Time Tracking.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, EIBs, or security.
  • Understanding of HR business processes and data.
  • Experience in a regulated or SOX-controlled environment.
