About the role
Primarily remote, with onsite travel to the Atlanta area for about 1 to 2 weeks per quarter. You will lead Workday Payroll design, configuration, testing, Payroll Compare, rollout, and a functional team in a client-facing role. Workday Payroll certification, implementation and hands-on configuration experience are required; candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders.
We are seeking an experienced Workday HCM Payroll Lead to own the design, configuration, testing, and delivery of a critical Workday Payroll workstream for a higher education and government client. This high-impact, client-facing role is ideal for a hands-on Workday professional who can lead a team, translate complex payroll requirements into effective solutions, and guide the workstream through a successful rollout.

Responsibilities
- Lead Workday Payroll design and configuration
- Gather and document requirements and design decisions
- Demonstrate Workday Payroll features to client stakeholders
- Configure the software and support testing and rollout
- Lead Payroll Compare planning and execution
- Communicate Payroll Compare gaps and recommended next steps
- Provide knowledge transfer to the client team
- Manage and support Payroll functional team members
- Provide input into the cutover plan
Qualifications
- Workday Payroll certification
- Prior Workday Payroll implementation experience
- Hands-on Payroll configuration experience
- Functional or team lead experience
- Strong client-facing, documentation, and testing skills
