Junior Workday HCM Configuration Specialist

About the role

TL;DR

Support Workday HCM as a subject matter expert, with 3+ years of experience in configuration and business process management. You’ll maintain Core HCM, staffing models, organizations, positions, supervisory organizations, compensation, security, custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards. The role also covers biannual release reviews, testing, issue resolution, and support for HR, managers, and employees.

Workday Administration & Support

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Workday HCM and related modules.

  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, organizational structures, security roles, and system settings.

  • Manage system updates, enhancements, and feature releases.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Workday-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Provide ongoing system support to HR, managers, and employees.

Configuration & Optimization

  • Configure and maintain:

    • Core HCM

    • Staffing Models

    • Job Profiles

    • Organizations

    • Positions

    • Supervisory Organizations

    • Compensation structures

  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend system improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Participate in Workday implementation, optimization, and transformation projects.

Testing & Release Management

  • Review Workday biannual releases and assess business impact.

  • Create and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) plans.

  • Coordinate deployment of system enhancements and new functionality.

  • Document configuration changes and testing results.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Workday HCM.

  • Hands-on experience with Workday configuration and business process management.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle management.

  • Experience creating custom reports, calculated fields, and dashboards.

  • Knowledge of Workday security configuration.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
